foodie: kiwi, blueberries, raspberries (Fruit salad)
(Only six months late. Improvement!)

:♥: The base cake is apple butter cake, super-healthy but still tastes pretty good (as opposed to angel food cake, which tastes like eating air @_@). Concentrated apple juice instead of sugar, apple butter instead of filling, cream cheese + berry jam instead of frosting, added wheat germ, etc.

:♥: The train carries a load of mini marshmallows, blackberries, halved chocolate wafer sticks, halved cherries, blueberries and green grapes. I glazed the fruits with melted apple jelly to preserve their appearance.
:♥: The animal passengers are food picks bought from Daiso. They also help the train stay put.

:♥: Train wheels and train tracks are made from snickerdoodle cookies and wafers.

:♥: Leftover candy pebbles and m & ms spell River's name (I threw away the candy after I cut and distributed the cake. One 2.5-y.o. girl looked at me with betrayed eyes =P)

(Finally got around to posting this, a year late >_>)

:♥: The big pirate chest is made of chocolate roll cake, bought from Uwajimaya. It withstood the summer heat pretty well. (The green tea roll cake, on the other hand, deflated ;_;)

:♥: Gems/coins made of strawberry & kiwi slices.
:♥: Black pearl necklace made of blueberries strung on candy lace from Ikea. (The candy laces are used as "spaghetti" on a "spaghetti & meatball" cupcakes here.)

:♥: Chocolate coins in gold foil
:♥: Blueberry rings
:♥: Sand made of crumbled ricecakes

I should've glazed the fruits to preserve their fresh & plump appearance, but it didn't occur to me at the time. Lesson learned.

The other cake, because River had two birthday parties (one for our friends, another for husband's bazillion relatives).

Base: angel food cake, peach & plum glaze, decorated with blueberries & star cutouts of honey cake.
The jewel toothpicks are either from Ichibankan or Daiso.
